Data Center Design Manager

As a Data Center Design Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the entire design process of mission-critical infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless integration from concept to completion. Responsibilities
- Manage and lead the design process, including test fits, design development, and delivery, ensuring solutions meet functional, aesthetic, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related issues, facilitating effective communication between clients, design teams, and construction vendors.
- Oversee construction administration activities, ensuring design intent is accurately executed and resolving field issues as they arise.
- Manage relationships with architectural and engineering firms, as well as construction vendors, negotiating contracts and overseeing scope, terms, and deliverables.
- Track design progress, milestones, and risks, providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, incorporating feedback into design deliverables and ensuring project goals are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing and delivering complex design projects, with a strong understanding of design principles, processes, and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges, think strategically, and deliver effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in coordinating with contractors and ensuring design specifications are implemented accurately during construction.
- Experience managing vendor and consultant relationships, including structuring contracts for design and construction services.
- Industry knowledge of large-scale development and mission-critical projects such as data centers, hyperscalers, or complex technical builds is preferred.
- Relevant certifications and a background in architecture, engineering, or related fields are advantageous.
- Willingness to travel as required to project sites and client locations.
