Dynamic Director of Vessel Operations

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a diverse operations team comprising Vessel Managers, Operations Coordinators, and HSE personnel to achieve operational excellence.
- Act as the primary escalation point for complex operational, regulatory, and client-related issues, ensuring swift and effective resolutions.
- Drive safety, compliance, reliability, and performance initiatives across the fleet, maintaining adherence to all regulatory, class, flag, charter, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate closely with Technical, HSE, HR, Purchasing, and Finance teams to support and optimize vessel operations.
- Conduct performance reviews, mentor staff, and promote professional development to build a high-performing, motivated team.
- Oversee operational budgets, implement cost controls, and lead efficiency initiatives to maximize fleet productivity.
- Cultivate strong client relationships, monitor contract performance, and resolve issues proactively.
- Participate in incident investigations, implement corrective actions, and champion best practices, risk management, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support strategic growth initiatives, including fleet expansion planning, to position the organization for future success.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years in maritime operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity overseeing vessel or fleet operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong operational knowledge of offshore and/or DP-class vessels.
- Deep understanding of ISM, HSE systems, and regulatory frameworks such as IMO, USCG, and SOLAS.
- Financial acumen with demonstrated experience managing operational budgets and cost controls.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging effectively across executive, shore-side, and shipboard teams.
- Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams.
- Preferred: Strong exposure to DP operations and offshore environments.
- Other Requirements: Moderate travel to fleet vessels is necessary; relocation assistance available and mandatory.
