Electronics Technician β Marine Equipment (REMOTE) Description
We are seeking an Offshore Electronics Technician with experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing geophysical, hydrographic, and oceanographic equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electronic and software programming issues
- Contribute to offshore and nearshore marine survey projects
- Assist with in-house equipment bench testing, repairs, and regular maintenance
- Perform mobilization check-out of marine geophysical and hydrographic equipment and demobilization check-in of equipment in the resources management system
- Summarize service and maintenance reports and requests for parts and marine survey equipment
Electronics Technician Qualifications
- 3 years of relevant work experience as an offshore electronics technician
- Understanding of offshore marine survey operations, repair, and maintenance of geophysical
- Working knowledge of operations and maintenance of hydrographic and oceanographic equipment including multi-beam echosounders, SVPs, CTDs, and ADCPs
- Experience cable splicing and soldering, use of diagnostic equipment, and serial/UDP/TCP communications
- 50%+ travel to marine survey projects both within the US and overseas will be required
