Floorhand
Job Summary
The Floorhand is an essential member of the drilling rig crew responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of drilling equipment on the rig floor.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the tripping in/out of drill pipe and other tubulars on the rig floor.
- Operate tongs, elevators, slips, and other rig floor equipment as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rig floor and associated areas.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support drilling operations by preparing tools and materials and assisting with rig-up/rig-down procedures.
- Monitor drilling fluids and support mud operations as needed.
- Communicate effectively with crew members and report unsafe conditions or incidents immediately.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous oilfield or heavy labor experience preferred.
- Foreign License
