Marine Terminal Operations Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Terminal Operations Manager to lead and optimize daily terminal activities at a major port facility. This pivotal role requires a strategic leader capable of ensuring safe, efficient cargo handling while coordinating seamlessly with port authorities, vessel operators, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily terminal operations to guarantee safe, efficient, and compliant cargo handling activities.
  • Manage operational planning, scheduling, and coordination across all terminal functions.
  • Lead, develop, and motivate operational staff, including two direct reports, maintaining high performance standards.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Collaborate closely with vessel operators, port authorities, and internal departments to maintain smooth terminal workflows.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements to boost productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Monitor operational KPIs, control costs, and evaluate performance metrics to optimize terminal efficiency.
  • Support long-term planning and infrastructure utilization strategies to enhance operational capacity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Proven experience in terminal operations, port logistics, maritime operations, or related heavy industrial environments.
  • Ability to manage complex operations and coordinate with multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Flexibility to adapt schedules based on operational needs.
  • Familiarity with maritime safety standards and regulatory frameworks is preferred.
  • An engineering or technical degree is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Experience managing port or marine terminal operations is advantageous.
