This critical role involves overseeing structural weld fabrication and ensuring compliance with industry standards in a challenging offshore environment. The ideal candidate will bring proven inspection expertise, offshore experience, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform detailed inspections of structural welds on offshore fabrication projects.
- Monitor welding operations to ensure adherence to approved procedures and quality standards.
- Supervise welders and provide guidance to maintain compliance with safety and procedural requirements.
- Track and document structural weld fabrication progress accurately.
- Ensure all inspection activities meet project specifications and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to resolve quality issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain safety protocols and participate in safety meetings to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is mandatory.
- Proven offshore experience in structural welding inspection.
- Valid BOISET Rigging certification (API-RP-2D standard).
- Current USCG Physical & Drug Screen, or willingness to complete upon validation.
- Valid TWIC card and SafeGulf certification.
- Ability to work a 14/14 rotation schedule, 12-hour shifts.
- Strong understanding of welding procedures, structural fabrication, and inspection techniques.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
- Additional beneficial skills include experience with NDT (not required), and familiarity with offshore safety standards.
