Pipefitter Helper Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Pipefitter Helper to support pipelaying and maintenance activities on industrial construction projects. In this role, you will work closely with experienced pipefitters to assist with installation, assembly, and testing of piping systems, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.
Pipefitter Helper Responsibilities:
- Assist pipefitters with installing, maintaining, and testing process piping and utility systems
- Cut, grind, assemble, and thread pipes using various hand and power tools
- Mount pipe hangers, supports, and secure piping to structures
- Join piping components via threaded or cemented joints
- Help unload materials, tools, and supplies, and support lifting and positioning tasks
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operate power tools and equipment safely
- Climb ladders and work at heights as necessary
- Follow all safety procedures and use fall arrest systems appropriately
Pipefitter Helper Position Requirements:
- Ability to safely operate hand and power tools used in pipefitting
- Physical strength and stamina to lift materials, climb ladders, and work in various terrains
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures
- Prior industrial or construction experience preferred (minimum of 6 months)
- Ability to work daylight hours, travel if required, and work in different environments
