3rd Assistant Engineer

We're looking for an experienced 3rd Assistant Engineer for a hitch onboard a deepwater offshore drillship operating in the Gulf. Previous drillship experience is required.

This is a hands-on engineering position supporting the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine room and drilling support systems. You'll stand engine room watches, troubleshoot machinery, perform preventative and corrective maintenance, and assist with the operation of diesel generators, pumps, compressors, purifiers, HVAC, sewage treatment, ballast systems, fuel and lube oil systems, freshwater makers, and other auxiliary equipment critical to drilling operations.

Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced engine room, responding to equipment failures, completing planned maintenance, and supporting shipyard-style repairs while offshore. Experience with diesel-electric propulsion systems and computerized maintenance management systems is strongly preferred.

Requirements:

  • Previous drillship experience required
  • Up-to-date resume
  • USCG MMC
  • STCW Compliant USCG Medical Certificate
  • Foreign Flag License
  • BOSIET / FOET / THUET
  • RigPass or SafeGulf
  • TWIC
  • US Passport or government-issued ID

We're looking for someone who can step onboard with minimal onboarding, integrate quickly with the engineering department, and safely support 24/7 drilling operations.
