AB Unlimited / Mate | Offshore Drilling
We’re looking for an experienced AB Unlimited or Mate to join an offshore drilling unit in the Gulf for a temporary hitch. This position will support deck operations, marine activities, vessel safety, and day-to-day operations onboard.
Responsibilities:
- Support safe deck and marine operations throughout the hitch.
- Assist with mooring, line handling, lifting operations, cargo movements, and general deck activities.
- Stand assigned navigational, deck, or safety watches based on position and credentials.
- Conduct routine inspections of deck equipment, lifesaving equipment, and assigned areas.
- Support helicopter, supply vessel, and other marine operations as required.
- Participate in emergency response duties, drills, and safety meetings.
- Follow permit-to-work, JSA, and established offshore safety procedures.
- Maintain clear communication with the bridge, deck crew, and other departments during operations.
- Mates may assist with bridge watchstanding, navigation, stability, vessel documentation, and marine operations as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current USCG AB Unlimited endorsement or valid Mate license.
- Current MMC and USCG Medical Certificate with applicable STCW endorsements.
- Previous offshore experience required.
- Previous drilling rig or drillship experience strongly preferred.
- Current TWIC and U.S. Passport or REAL ID.
- Current offshore safety training such as THUET/BOSIET and RigPass/SafeGulf, as applicable.
- Must meet all client medical, drug screening, and onboarding requirements.
We’re looking for someone who can step onboard, work safely with the marine and deck teams, and support ongoing offshore operations for the duration of the hitch.
