Aftermarket Sales Engineer

Job Summary
The Aftermarket Sales Engineer supports parts and service sales within a technical service environment, serving as a key connection between customers, field service teams, and the sales organization. This role receives and evaluates parts and service opportunities generated through ongoing field and service activity, determines the appropriate next steps, and ensures customers receive timely, accurate support. You will prepare quotations for straightforward parts and service needs, coordinate complex opportunities with technical sales resources, and identify potential new equipment opportunities to route to the appropriate sales team. The position also supports service invoicing and related administrative activities by gathering the documentation needed to accurately process completed service work.

Responsibilities
Inside Sales & Opportunity Management

  • Receive, review, and prioritize incoming parts and service sales opportunities.
  • Respond with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and timely turnaround.
  • Evaluate customer requests to determine complexity and the appropriate path forward.
  • Prepare and deliver quotations for straightforward parts and service opportunities.
  • Coordinate complex technical opportunities with the appropriate sales or technical resources for development and quotation.
  • Track opportunities through the sales process and maintain accurate status updates.
  • Monitor costs and identify discrepancies or inconsistencies requiring additional review.
  • Identify potential new equipment sales opportunities and communicate them to the appropriate sales team.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity and customer information within CRM and related business systems.

Customer Support

  • Communicate with customers regarding quotation status, service requirements, outstanding balances, and applicable deadlines.
  • Help customers understand available parts and service solutions.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions and concerns.
  • Coordinate internally to resolve issues related to quotations, parts, service, or billing.
  • Maintain consistent communication throughout the quotation and service process.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service while balancing responsiveness, accuracy, and business requirements.

Service Billing & Administrative Support

  • Assist with the service invoicing process as needed.
  • Work with service personnel to gather required information to invoice completed service jobs and service tickets.
  • Prepare, issue, and process service tickets, invoices, and related billing documentation.
  • Review customer account information during the quotation and billing process as required.
  • Support accurate customer account and accounts receivable information.
  • Identify missing information or discrepancies and coordinate with internal teams to resolve them.
  • Maintain clear, reliable records of billing and sales activity.
  • Generate reports related to quotation, billing, and sales activity as needed.

Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in inside sales, customer service, estimating, quoting, billing, service coordination, or a related role (preferred).
  • Comfort working with pricing, costs, invoices, and other financial information.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively with sales, service, field, and administrative teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to handle customer and business information professionally and confidentially.
  • Results-driven mindset with patience and persistence when resolving challenges.

Nice to Have Skills

  • Experience in an industrial, mechanical, technical service, equipment, or parts environment.
  • Experience with CRM or sales management software.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Candidates pursuing or holding a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field are encouraged to apply.
