CAD Electrical Drafter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled CAD Electrical Drafter to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing electrical components and systems, modifying existing designs to enhance products, and supporting manufacturing operations through precise technical drawings. Your expertise will ensure seamless collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and planning teams, contributing to the development of innovative and efficient electrical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed electrical design drawings and schematics using CAD software.
- Modify and update existing electrical designs to improve functionality and manufacturability.
- Gather technical information, perform studies, and develop rough layouts and sketches to present design proposals.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and planning teams to ensure design criteria meet project specifications, material availability, and ease of production.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Review and validate design accuracy, making necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
- Support the development of technical documentation and assist in design reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot design issues and implement solutions efficiently.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED; technical degree or certification in electrical drafting or related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical CAD drafting or a related field.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with other CAD tools is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with database tools or systems used in engineering environments that relate data from various sources is advantageous.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and collaborate with engineering teams to develop accurate designs.
