Contracts Compliance Analyst
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Contracts Compliance Analyst for a one-year contract role supporting contract administration, compliance, and governance within the energy sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring contractual obligations are accurately tracked, documented, and fulfilled in line with company standards, contractual requirements, and relevant regulations. This role involves providing post-execution contract support, monitoring contract performance, managing notices and change orders, and collaborating closely with Legal, Supply Chain, Project Execution, and Operations teams. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in contract management, administration, or compliance within Midstream, EPC, or Upstream environments, along with a thorough understanding of contract lifecycle processes.
Responsibilities
- Review executed contracts to ensure contractual obligations are properly documented, tracked, and fulfilled.
- Monitor adherence to contract terms, conditions, deliverables, and company policies.
- Verify contract documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify non-conformance issues and coordinate corrective actions accordingly.
- Maintain organized, accurate contract records within management systems.
- Oversee ongoing contract performance and key contractual obligations.
- Review and validate weekly reports, invoice transmittals, and supporting contract documentation.
- Track milestones, deliverables, renewals, expiration dates, and other contractual requirements.
- Support internal audits and regulatory reviews with precise contract documentation.
- Maintain visibility of outstanding obligations and communicate potential compliance issues to relevant stakeholders.
- Manage contractual Notice provisions by issuing notices within specified timelines.
- Coordinate and track RFIs from initiation through resolution.
- Support the Change Order process, including documentation, review, approval routing, and compliance checks.
- Confirm that contractual changes are properly approved and documented.
- Identify contractual and compliance risks, escalating concerns as needed.
- Collaborate with Legal and Supply Chain to develop effective risk mitigation strategies.
- Ensure all contract modifications follow established approval and documentation procedures.
- Work closely with Legal, Supply Chain, Project Execution, and Operations teams to resolve contract-related issues.
- Provide guidance on contract requirements, procedures, and compliance expectations.
- Support project teams in maintaining contract integrity throughout the lifecycle.
- Assist in developing and deploying standardized contract compliance procedures.
- Identify process improvement opportunities related to contract tracking, documentation, and reporting.
- Prepare reports on contract compliance status, outstanding obligations, risks, and action items.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal Studies, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
- Prior experience in contract administration, management, compliance, procurement, or a related area.
- Experience working in Midstream, EPC, or Upstream energy companies is required.
- Proven ability to review and manage executed contracts and track contractual obligations.
- Working knowledge of RFIs, Change Orders, contractual notices, invoice documentation, and contract lifecycle management.
- Strong interpretative skills to understand contractual language, obligations, deadlines, and risks.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, and Project teams.
- Excellent organizational skills with sharp attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of managing multiple contracts, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and contract/document management systems.
