Dredging Project Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Dredging Project Manager to lead the execution of dredging and marine construction projects across the Gulf Coast and additional locations as needed. This role holds end-to-end responsibility for project execution-from planning and mobilization through dredging operations, project controls, client coordination, and final demobilization/closeout. You will oversee field operations with the Project Superintendent reporting directly to you, and you will be accountable for delivering work safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full alignment with contract requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on dredging project leadership experience—preferably hydraulic dredging—and a strong grasp of the operational, logistical, financial, and technical demands of marine environments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage dredging and marine construction projects from pre-construction and mobilization through execution, demobilization, and closeout.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and other project personnel.
  • Plan and coordinate dredging operations, marine equipment, support vessels, crews, materials, subcontractors, and project logistics.
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar tools.
  • Monitor progress, productivity, costs, manpower, equipment utilization, and schedule performance to keep projects on budget and on schedule.
  • Coordinate mobilization and demobilization of dredging equipment, support equipment, personnel, vendors, and materials.
  • Maintain consistent client communication regarding progress, schedule, operational issues, changes, and deliverables.
  • Prepare, review, and manage submittals, daily reports, progress documentation, billing, invoices, and other contractual documentation.
  • Develop and submit accurate client billing and monitor financial performance throughout execution.
  • Review and approve vendor and subcontractor invoices.
  • Coordinate field crew schedules and manpower requirements based on project needs and production objectives.
  • Conduct regular site visits and provide hands-on oversight of dredging and marine construction activities.
  • Monitor dredging production and field performance; partner with Superintendents and crews to resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure work complies with plans, specifications, contract requirements, environmental requirements, and applicable safety standards.
  • Participate in safety audits, safety meetings, and corrective-action initiatives.
  • Identify risks, delays, change conditions, and cost impacts; communicate proactively to management and clients.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, estimating, vendors, subcontractors, and field leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support change-order documentation, cost tracking, forecasting, and closeout activities.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, regulatory representatives, and field personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline preferred; equivalent relevant dredging/marine construction experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in dredging, marine construction, heavy civil marine construction, or a closely related industry.
  • Strong understanding of dredging operations and marine construction project execution.
  • Experience coordinating field operations involving marine equipment, crews, subcontractors, vendors, and project logistics.
  • Experience managing projects from mobilization through demobilization and closeout.
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, cost control, budgeting, forecasting, billing, and project documentation.
  • Experience preparing and managing client submittals, progress reports, invoices, and project schedules.
  • Proven leadership ability to manage Superintendents and field personnel while coordinating with clients and senior management.
  • Working knowledge of construction and marine safety requirements.
  • Ability and willingness to travel extensively and spend time at active dredging project sites.
  • Preferred: Direct hydraulic dredging project management experience; familiarity with dredges, booster pumps, pipelines, support vessels, and associated marine equipment; experience managing multiple concurrent projects or complex operations; experience with cost tracking, forecasting, change orders, and contract administration; experience working with owners, government agencies, engineering firms, subcontractors, and marine construction stakeholders.

If you have the dredging project leadership experience to drive safe, on-time, on-budget execution in demanding marine environments, apply today to be considered.
