Job Summary
Core Group Resources is hiring Marine Electricians for a shipyard in Paducah, KY. You’ll troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical systems on towboats and barges. You’ll work alongside the yard’s electric shop team. This role suits an electrician who is comfortable diagnosing problems in tight shipboard spaces and working to marine standards.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical systems on towboats and barges
- Install and terminate marine cable, panels, lighting, and controls
- Repair generators, motors, starters, and navigation and deck equipment wiring
- Read electrical schematics and one-line drawings
- Test circuits and equipment with meters and megohmmeters
- Follow lockout/tagout and yard safety procedures
Requirements
- Experience as an electrician in a marine, shipyard, or industrial setting
- Able to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical faults
- Comfortable working in engine rooms, confined spaces, and outdoors
- Own basic electrician hand tools
Preferred Requirements
- Towboat or inland vessel electrical experience
- Generator and motor control experience
- Journeyman license or equivalent training
