Power Distribution Field Engineer
Job Summary
Our engineers and technicians specialize in electrical acceptance testing, commissioning, and maintenance testing for a wide range of clients including Utility, Generation, Industrial, and Commercial Facilities. We perform all testing in accordance with NETA/ANSI standards. We are committed to providing a culture of safety and technical expertise in the Power Industry. We are looking to grow our team.
Responsibilities
- Perform installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance on:
- low and medium voltage distribution equipment and substations.
- Breakers
- Transformers
- Cables
- Protective Relays
- ATS
- MCCs
- Adheres to testing and service protocols as well as customer requirements, ANSI/IEEE/NETA procedures and OEM requirements.
- At least 50% of the job will be field service but it also requires in-house engineering and testing support Ideal candidate
- Will directly report to the Director of Engineering and Service
Requirements
- 3-5+ years of hands on experience installing, maintaining, testing & repairing electrical equipment for power distribution system and substations.
- 3-5+ years of working on protective relays.
- Willing to obtain a NETA III level technician certification
- Extensive safety training and diligent adherence to safe working practices.
- Capable of troubleshooting distribution and transmission controls circuits
- Ability to work independently without need for direct supervision
- Able to direct a team of technicians to provide effective testing and maintenance services
- Candidate may be required to wear hearing protection, safety harness, and other personal protective equipment (PPE). Must be able to crawl, climb, and able to pass a fit for duty physical exam.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
