I&E Project Lead – Engineering & Instrumentation & Controls

Responsibilities:
- Foster and uphold a “safety first” culture across all project activities.
- Lead and execute engineering functions including scheduling, project controls, procurement, and construction support.
- Specify, design, and review DCS, SIS, and PLC system architectures aligned with project requirements.
- Develop comprehensive instrument and electrical documentation such as Instrument Indexes, I/O Lists, control and electrical equipment specifications, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform analyses on AC power systems, short circuit, and arc flash studies to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Create hazardous area classification drawings and specify appropriately rated equipment to meet safety standards.
- Develop process control philosophies, PCS architecture, logic diagrams, cause & effect charts, and control narratives.
- Design grounding systems, control buildings, plant layouts, and lighting plans, including performing necessary calculations.
- Contribute to the development of P&IDs, procurement packages, and coordinate design activities with interdisciplinary teams.
- Participate actively in project workshops and safety reviews, including risk assessments, HAZID, HAZOP, and constructability studies.
- Manage subcontractor scope of work, ensuring timely and quality execution.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members and less experienced engineers.
- Interact effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project alignment and clarity.
- Support field activities during construction and commissioning phases, including attending Factory Acceptance Tests to validate equipment performance.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in designing power infrastructure, medium/low voltage systems, and control/safety systems.
- Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) and experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), DCS, BMS, and PLCs.
- Experience leading EPC projects, particularly within gas processing, petrochemical, or refining industries.
- Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, and control engineering principles and practices.
- Professional Engineering license is highly preferred.
- Field construction engineering experience is advantageous.
