IT SYSTEM ENGINEER 2 – CLOUD SPECIALIST

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Specialist to lead the design, support, and optimization of our Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure. This pivotal role involves delivering secure, reliable cloud services while ensuring seamless integration with traditional data center operations. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Azure compute, security, and hybrid environments, playing a key part in maintaining a robust and scalable cloud ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for Azure cloud infrastructure, architecture, and operations.
  • Manage and oversee cloud servers, virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
  • Monitor, review, and enforce Azure security controls, including identity management, RBAC, policies, and threat protection.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments and ensure effective integration with on-premises data center operations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues related to performance, connectivity, and security incidents.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation, operational procedures, and standards.
  • Collaborate with application, network, and security teams to ensure a stable, secure, and scalable cloud environment.
  • Participate in senior-level escalation support and on-call rotations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; or Master’s degree with minimal experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience supporting Azure cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud servers, virtual machine management, Azure networking, identity, storage, and resource governance.
  • Proficiency with Azure security tools, best practices, and hybrid cloud operations.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills across compute, networking, and security layers.
  • Experience managing VMs via the Azure Portal, including monitoring, scaling, and performance tuning.
  • Familiarity with Azure Analytics services such as Log Analytics, Monitor, or Sentinel.
  • Knowledge of automation and scripting using PowerShell, CLI, or Python.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700) are preferred.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Location: Pascagoula, MS.
