Journeyman Electrician

Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Journeyman Electricians to join our internal construction and electrical teams supporting the rapid development of cutting-edge data centers. This role involves traveling to active construction sites to install, commission, and maintain mission-critical electrical systems. This hands-on position is ideal for skilled electricians who thrive in industrial or data-center settings, enjoy project-based travel, and want to contribute to innovative AI infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Travel with internal construction and electrical teams to project sites to install, terminate, and test electrical systems, including underground duct banks, conduits, cable pulling, switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS systems, PDUs, busways, and grounding.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems across multiple active sites.
  • Support commissioning activities such as point-to-point checks, functional testing, megger testing, and system energization.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-line diagrams, and specifications.
  • Ensure full compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and safety standards, including LOTO and arc flash protocols.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and operations teams to deliver projects on schedule with zero incidents.
  • Participate in constructibility reviews and provide field feedback to improve designs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, as-builts, and test records.
  • Mobilize quickly between project locations as construction phases and priorities shift.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience in industrial, commercial, or mission-critical electrical work, preferably in data centers, power plants, or large facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems up to 480V; experience with high- or medium-voltage systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency with test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and power quality analyzers.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
  • Current OSHA 10/30 training and a strong safety mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (often 80–100%) and work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and extended shifts during critical phases.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in industrial environments with PPE.
  • Journeyman Electrician license (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Experience with data center or hyperscale power infrastructure, including redundant UPS systems, generators, and busway systems, is advantageous.
  • Prior experience on large-scale, multi-site construction projects requiring frequent travel.
  • Additional skills such as NETA certification, NICET, PLC/controls, SCADA, or VFD knowledge are a plus.
