Journeyman Pipefitter Job Summary
As a Pipefitter, you will play a critical role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems in various industries, including oil and gas, power generation, and water treatment. Your expertise will help ensure the safe and efficient operation of these systems, contributing to the reliability and productivity of our clients' operations.
Journeyman Pipefitter Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair piping systems, including pipes, fittings, valves, and pumps
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents to ensure accurate installation and repair
- Perform welding, bending, and joining tasks to fabricate and assemble piping components
- Troubleshoot and resolve piping system issues, including leaks, blockages, and other problems
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, including electricians, plumbers, and engineers, to ensure seamless project execution
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure piping systems are in good working condition
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments, new technologies, and changing regulations
Journeyman Pipefitter Position Requirements
- Completion of an approved apprenticeship program or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of piping codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API, and CSA)
- Proficiency in pipefitting techniques, including welding, bending, and joining
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
