Mate (Offshore Drillship)
We’re looking for an experienced Mate to support the safe navigation, marine operations, and day-to-day deck activities aboard a modern offshore drilling unit. This position works closely with the Chief Mate and Captain to ensure safe vessel operations while supervising the deck crew and maintaining compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Stand navigational watches and assist with the safe operation of the vessel while underway and on location.
- Supervise Roustabouts and deck crew during daily operations, cargo handling, lifting activities, and maintenance work.
- Coordinate loading, unloading, and securing of cargo, bulk transfers, and supply vessel operations.
- Assist with ballast control, stability management, and marine systems as directed.
- Oversee mooring, anchor handling (where applicable), and DP-related deck operations.
- Ensure deck equipment, lifesaving appliances, firefighting equipment, and lifting gear are properly maintained and inspected.
- Enforce safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements, and environmental compliance.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to onboard emergencies as required.
- Maintain accurate deck logs, inspection records, and operational documentation.
Requirements:
- Previous offshore drilling experience as a Mate preferred.
- USCG Mate Unlimited or appropriate license for the position.
- foreign flag license
- Valid STCW endorsements.
- BOSIET/FOET or THUET.
- RigPass or SafeGulf.
- Current offshore medical.
- TWIC and valid government-issued ID or passport.
