Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced Electrician for an offshore drilling opportunity aboard a deepwater drilling unit operating in the Gulf. Previous drillship experience is strongly preferred.

This position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting the rig's electrical distribution systems and equipment that keep drilling operations running safely and efficiently. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, can troubleshoot under pressure, and doesn't need to be walked through routine electrical work.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining generators, switchboards, MCCs, transformers, VFDs, motors, lighting systems, UPS systems, battery banks, and electrical distribution equipment throughout the rig.
  • You'll also assist with preventative maintenance, electrical isolations, equipment testing, calibrations, and startup after maintenance or repairs.
  • You'll work closely with the mechanics, ETO, and engine department to diagnose equipment issues, respond to breakdowns, and minimize downtime.
  • A strong understanding of lockout/tagout procedures, electrical safety, and hazardous area equipment is expected.
  • This position requires someone who can read electrical drawings, use test equipment confidently, identify problems quickly, and make sound decisions while maintaining a strong safety mindset.

Requirements

  • Resume (previous drillship experience preferred)
  • Previous offshore Electrician experience
  • Strong knowledge of electrical generation and distribution systems
  • Experience troubleshooting motors, VFDs, MCCs, generators, and switchboards
  • USCG MMC (if applicable)
  • Current Offshore Medical
  • Foreign Flag License
  • BOSIET / FOET / THUET
  • RigPass or SafeGulf
  • TWIC
  • U.S. Passport or Government-Issued ID

We're looking for someone who can step onboard, take ownership of the electrical systems, and contribute from day one.
