Offshore Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Offshore Mechanic to join our team aboard a deepwater drilling unit operating in the Gulf. This critical role involves maintaining and troubleshooting mechanical systems essential to drilling operations and rig functionality. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to ensure continuous operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain pumps, compressors, mud pumps, top drives, drawworks, iron roughnecks, pipe handling equipment, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, rotating machinery, cranes, and winches.
- Perform preventative maintenance, equipment overhauls, alignments, bearing replacements, and seal replacements.
- Respond promptly to mechanical failures, minimizing downtime and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
- Collaborate closely with drilling crews, electricians, and engine departments to diagnose issues and coordinate repairs.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and maintenance procedures to execute repairs accurately and safely.
- Take ownership of mechanical systems onboard, contributing effectively from the first tour.
Requirements
- Resume (previous drillship experience preferred)
- Previous offshore Mechanic experience
- Strong hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Experience maintaining drilling equipment and rotating machinery
- USCG MMC (if applicable)
- Current Offshore Medical
- Foreign Flag License
- BOSIET / FOET / THUET
- RigPass or SafeGulf
- TWIC
- U.S. Passport or Government-Issued ID
