Offshore Structural Integrity Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled Offshore Structural Integrity Engineer to ensure the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of aging offshore floating topsides structures. This pivotal role combines engineering analysis, inspection oversight, and decision-making to maintain structural fitness-for-service in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in safeguarding offshore assets and supporting operational excellence through collaboration, technical expertise, and efficient management of inspection and repair processes.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including operations, maintenance, facilities engineering, and construction.
- Develop inspection plans and associated work packs to facilitate thorough structural assessments.
- Review inspection findings, conduct post-processing, and update global models to evaluate fitness-for-service status.
- Recommend mitigation measures and repair strategies to address structural issues.
- Track mitigation activities and updates utilizing IDMS systems.
- Generate notifications and work orders for repair and maintenance activities using CMMS tools.
- Manage annual budgets related to structural integrity projects.
- Contract and oversee subcontractors' work, serving as the company's technical reviewer.
- Travel as necessary to offshore facilities for inspections and follow-up activities, maintaining safety and technical standards.
- Adhere to company safety protocols, engineering procedures, and quality assurance practices.
Requirements
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with offshore teams including inspectors, construction crews, and offshore installation managers (OIMs).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in integrity management of oil and gas structures.
- Proficient in fitness-for-service evaluations of structural damage, including hand calculations and global model assessments in compliance with industry codes.
- Demonstrated capability to independently manage offshore mobilizations and lead scope execution.
- Willingness and ability to travel offshore multiple times annually for inspection follow-ups and project support.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities characteristic of offshore operations.
