Plant Laborer
Job Summary
You'll clean and gas-free tank barges so they can safely enter the yard for repair. This role suits a safety-minded worker who is comfortable with physical work in confined spaces and following strict procedures.
Responsibilities
- Clean cargo tanks and voids on tank barges by washing, stripping, and removing residue
- Operate pumps, hoses, blowers, and steam and wash equipment
- Assist with atmospheric monitoring and ventilation of tanks before entry
- Follow confined-space entry, permit, and gas-free procedures
- Handle and stage waste materials according to site procedures
- Keep equipment and the work area clean and organized
Requirements
- Able to work in confined spaces while wearing a respirator and full PPE
- Able to do physical work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Strong commitment to following safety procedures
- Willing to work evening shift
Preferred Requirements
- Barge cleaning, tank cleaning, or industrial cleaning experience
- Confined space entry or HAZWOPER training
- TWIC card
