Project Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer with expertise in municipal water and wastewater systems to join our team. Responsibilities
- Lead and assist in the design of municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities and related infrastructure projects.
- Prepare engineering plans, specifications, calculations, technical reports, and supporting documentation.
- Develop and review engineering drawings using AutoCAD to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Act as a technical resource and main point of contact for clients throughout project lifecycles.
- Coordinate with municipalities, contractors, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to facilitate project progress.
- Conduct site visits to gather field data and support project execution efforts.
- Support project management activities including scheduling, budgeting, resource planning, and client communication.
- Ensure that projects adhere to applicable regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.
Requirements
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of engineering experience, preferably in water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of engineering design principles, permitting processes, and municipal project delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a hands-on environment and manage multiple project aspects.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated professional who thrives in a team setting and client-facing roles.
Preferred skills include experience with water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, utility infrastructure improvements, municipal capital improvement projects, and commercial or industrial site development. Experience with project management, site visits, and client interactions is highly valued.
Preferred education and experience include a PE license and at least 6 years in the industry focusing on infrastructure projects.
Additional requirements may include occasional travel for site assessments and certifications related to project-specific needs.
