Rig Readiness Coordinator

We're looking for an experienced Rig Readiness Coordinator for an offshore drilling opportunity supporting the acceptance and startup of a deepwater drilling unit operating in the Gulf. This is a rotational offshore position working a 28/28 schedule.

This is not an administrative role. We're looking for someone with a strong technical offshore background who understands how a drillship operates and can bridge the gap between the rig crew and the client's acceptance team. Previous experience as a Rig Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar technical leadership role is highly preferred.

The primary responsibility will be supporting the rig acceptance process by working directly with department heads, gathering and organizing technical documentation, verifying equipment readiness, tracking outstanding items, and ensuring the client and third-party acceptance teams receive the information they need throughout the acceptance process.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling maintenance records and equipment history from the rig's maintenance management system, verifying equipment status, coordinating with the mechanical, electrical, marine, and drilling departments
  • Participating in equipment inspections and walkdowns, documenting deficiencies, tracking action items, and following them through to completion.
  • You'll also support client audits, acceptance testing, commissioning activities, and help ensure the rig is fully prepared for contract startup.
  • This position requires someone who communicates well with both offshore personnel and client representatives, is organized under pressure, and understands how different departments work together during a rig acceptance.
  • We're looking for someone who can identify missing information, follow up with the appropriate people, and help keep the acceptance process moving without constant supervision.

Requirements

  • Resume (previous drillship experience strongly preferred)
  • Previous offshore technical leadership experience (Rig Maintenance Supervisor preferred)
  • Strong understanding of deepwater drilling operations
  • Experience working with planned maintenance systems (PMS/CMMS)
  • Experience coordinating maintenance records, equipment documentation, and technical reports
  • Ability to work directly with client representatives and third-party acceptance teams
  • Current Offshore Medical
  • Foreign Flag License (if applicable)
  • BOSIET / FOET / THUET
  • RigPass or SafeGulf
  • TWIC
  • U.S. Passport or Government-Issued ID

We're looking for someone who can step onboard, work alongside the rig crew and client representatives, and help drive the acceptance process through organization, technical knowledge, and strong communication from the first hitch.
