Senior Dynamic Positioning Specialist

Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Dynamic Positioning (DP) Specialist to oversee and optimize fleet-wide DP operations, ensure compliance, and uphold system integrity across offshore assets. As a critical technical advisor within the marine organization, you will leverage your extensive offshore experience to promote safety, operational excellence, and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical and operational support for DP systems across the entire fleet.
  • Lead and review FMEA studies, perform proving trials, annual testing, and other DP performance assessments.
  • Ensure all vessels adhere to company procedures, maintenance standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, analyze, and resolve DP-related deficiencies, coordinating communication across stakeholders.
  • Maintain and review WSOG documentation and other DP operational procedures.
  • Support and conduct DP audits and marine assurance activities on multiple vessels.
  • Analyze audit outcomes, identify emerging trends, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with marine technical, QHSE, and operations teams to enhance DP strategies and overall performance.
  • Ensure compliance with ISM, SMS, SEMS, and relevant international maritime regulations.
  • Stay updated on the latest DP technology, industry performance standards, and regulatory changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Marine Transportation, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years offshore DP experience, preferably on drillships, MODUs, or similar offshore assets.
  • Extensive expertise in DP systems, particularly Class 2 and Class 3 configurations.
  • Proven experience in FMEA, DP trial procedures, and WSOG development.
  • Strong background in marine audits, compliance reviews, and assurance activities.
  • In-depth knowledge of IMCA, IMO, MTS, USCG, ABS, DNV standards; familiar with ISM Code, SMS, and SEMS frameworks.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, risk assessment, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills across vessel crews and shore-based teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with high organizational standards.
  • Comfortable working both offshore and in a corporate advisory capacity.
