Senior Mechanic
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanic to join our team, responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining rig mechanical systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. This pivotal role involves advanced technical expertise in rig equipment, supervision of junior mechanics, and support during commissioning and start-up phases. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical background and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and overhaul of rig mechanical equipment and systems.
- Maintain and repair rotating and reciprocating equipment such as mud pumps, air compressors, generators, and engines.
- Service rig hoisting and handling systems, including drawworks components, top drive support equipment, winches, cranes, and rigging hardware.
- Inspect and maintain fluid transfer and pressure systems, including valves, manifolds, piping, hoses, and fittings, identifying failures proactively.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks, lubrication routines, and condition monitoring, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, parts books, and OEM specifications to complete repairs correctly.
- Supervise and mentor junior mechanics, providing on-the-job training and ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Support commissioning and start-up activities following major maintenance or equipment replacement.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in workshops, tool rooms, and work areas, ensuring tools are calibrated and inspected as required.
Requirements
- Up-to-date resume with relevant experience.
- Offshore medical certification.
- BOSIET / FOET / THUET certifications.
- RigPass or SafeGulf certification.
- TWIC card.
- US Passport or government-issued ID.
