Structural Welder

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Welder to join our team and contribute to heavy shipyard construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of large-scale structures through expert welding techniques. Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy shipyard construction welding in all positions, adhering to project specifications.
  • Utilize Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) processes with proficiency.
  • Interpret and follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications accurately.
  • Use all relevant welding tools effectively, including troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Demonstrate welding ability through performance and testing, including passing the 1st class Skill Test.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with safety standards and protocols.
  • Perform additional duties related to welding as required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in welding, specifically in heavy construction environments.
  • Current experience with flux core welding (FCAW).
  • Experience with ceramic tape backing.
  • Ability to pass the 1st class Skill Test.
  • Knowledge of interpreting Welding Procedure Specifications.
  • Proficiency in using welding tools and equipment, with troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
  • Preferred education includes relevant technical training or certifications in welding.
