Responsibilities
- Perform heavy shipyard construction welding in all positions, adhering to project specifications.
- Utilize Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) processes with proficiency.
- Interpret and follow approved Welding Procedure Specifications accurately.
- Use all relevant welding tools effectively, including troubleshooting and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Demonstrate welding ability through performance and testing, including passing the 1st class Skill Test.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, complying with safety standards and protocols.
- Perform additional duties related to welding as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of work experience in welding, specifically in heavy construction environments.
- Current experience with flux core welding (FCAW).
- Experience with ceramic tape backing.
- Ability to pass the 1st class Skill Test.
- Knowledge of interpreting Welding Procedure Specifications.
- Proficiency in using welding tools and equipment, with troubleshooting skills.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and protocols.
- Preferred education includes relevant technical training or certifications in welding.
