Assistant Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of vessel machinery and systems. This vital role involves assisting the Chief Engineer in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of all engineering equipment onboard. The position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to offshore vessel operations, working on a 28-day rotation in Suriname.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Chief Engineer with the operation, maintenance, and repair of the vessel’s main engines, auxiliary machinery, and engineering systems.
- Support routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repairs to maintain optimal vessel performance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records in compliance with safety procedures and maritime regulations.
- Follow company safety protocols and ensure all machinery and equipment remain in good working condition.
- Contribute to the overall safety and operational efficiency of the vessel during offshore assignments.
Requirements
- Relevant technical skills and knowledge related to marine engineering systems.
- Ability to support routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping skills.
- Commitment to safety procedures and maritime regulations.
- Offshore experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work on a 28-day offshore rotation in Suriname.
