Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO)
Job Summary
The Dynamic Positioning Operator (DPO) is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the vessel’s Dynamic Positioning (DP) system. The DPO ensures precise station-keeping and maneuvering during critical offshore operations such as drilling, subsea construction, or production support. This role is essential to maintaining operational integrity and safety in complex marine environments.
Responsibilities

Maintain continuous awareness of vessel operations, position status, environmental conditions, and power systems.

Operate and monitor the DP system to ensure safe and efficient vessel positioning during all critical operations.

Accurately complete and maintain logs, checklists, and operational forms in accordance with company procedures and regulatory standards.

Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant DPOs and junior deck officers.

Operate manual DP controls as required for specific operations or during system failure scenarios.

Troubleshoot and assist with maintenance of DP systems in coordination with the ETO and other technical personnel.

Participate in drills, safety meetings, and risk assessments related to DP operations.
