Dredge Crane Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Dredge Crane Operator to join our marine construction and dredging team aboard a crane barge. In this critical role, you will operate barge-mounted cranes to support daily project activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and effective communication. Your expertise will be instrumental in maintaining smooth operations in a dynamic marine environment, contributing to the successful completion of dredging and construction tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate barge-mounted cranes to safely move materials, equipment, pipe, and other project-related loads.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections and routine checks of the crane and associated lifting equipment.
  • Conduct lifting operations following approved procedures, load charts, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors, riggers, deck personnel, and barge crews to execute daily operations safely.
  • Assist with routine crane maintenance, housekeeping, and report mechanical issues or equipment deficiencies.
  • Maintain awareness of weather, waterway, and jobsite conditions during lifting activities.
  • Adhere to all safety policies, project requirements, and regulations while participating in safety meetings and emergency response activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience operating barge-mounted cranes in a marine setting.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and/or friction cranes preferred.
  • Dredging or marine construction experience is highly desirable.
  • Current NCCCO Crane Operator Certification.
  • Physical examination and drug screen completed within the last two years.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team in a busy marine environment.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus but not required.
