Marine Electrician: Vessel Repair & Yard Maintenance
Job Summary
Core Group Resources is hiring a Marine Electrician. You’ll repair electrical systems on towboats and barges and support maintenance of yard equipment. This role suits a versatile electrician who is comfortable moving between shipboard repair work and facility and utility maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical systems on towboats and barges
- Install and terminate marine cable, panels, lighting, and controls
- Maintain and repair yard equipment, cranes, shop machinery, and facility power
- Read electrical schematics and one-line drawings
- Test circuits and equipment with meters and megohmmeters
- Follow lockout/tagout and yard safety procedures
Requirements
- Experience as an electrician in a marine, shipyard, or industrial maintenance setting
- Able to read schematics and troubleshoot electrical faults
- Comfortable working in engine rooms, confined spaces, and outdoors
- Willing to work evening shift
Preferred Requirements
- Towboat or inland vessel electrical experience
- Industrial maintenance or utility electrical experience
- Journeyman license or equivalent training
