Marine Painter
Job Summary
Core Group Resources is hiring Marine Painters for a shipyard in South Point, OH. You’ll prepare surfaces and apply protective coatings on towboats and barges. This role suits painters with industrial or marine coatings experience who take pride in surface prep and a durable, even finish.
Responsibilities
- Prepare steel surfaces by abrasive blasting, power tool cleaning, and grinding
- Apply primers, epoxies, and topcoats with airless spray, brush, and roller
- Mix and thin coatings to manufacturer specifications
- Measure film thickness and touch up holidays and defects
- Mask, protect, and clean up work areas and equipment
- Wear and maintain respirators and PPE and follow coatings safety procedures
Requirements
- Experience as an industrial, marine, or commercial painter
- Hands-on airless spray experience
- Able to work outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Able to wear a respirator and pass a fit test
Preferred Requirements
- Shipyard or barge coating experience
- Abrasive blasting experience
- Familiarity with marine epoxy and anti-fouling systems
