Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maritime Attorney with 3–10 years of litigation experience to join our growing team in either New Orleans or Houston. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of admiralty and maritime law and a proven ability to manage all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial or settlement.
Key Responsibilities:

Represent clients in maritime and admiralty litigation, including Jones Act, LHWCA, and general maritime claims

Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda

Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts

Attend hearings, mediations, and trials in state and federal courts

Evaluate and manage case strategy with clients and colleagues

Advise vessel owners, operators, and insurers on legal and regulatory issues

Stay up to date with changes in maritime laws, Coast Guard regulations, and related jurisprudence
Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Active license to practice law in Louisiana or Texas (dual license a plus)

3–10 years of litigation experience, with strong preference for maritime/admiralty background

Prior experience handling Jones Act, OCSLA, LHWCA, or offshore injury claims strongly preferred

Excellent writing, research, and oral advocacy skills

Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Strong interpersonal skills and a client-focused mindset
Preferred Experience:

Experience working with maritime insurers, P&I clubs, and vessel owners/operators

Familiarity with federal maritime jurisdiction and practice before U.S. District Courts

Trial or arbitration experience in maritime injury or contract disputes
