Offshore Rig Mechanic
Job Summary
Looking for an Offshore Rig Mechanic for a hitch onboard a deepwater offshore drillship operating in the Gulf. This is a hands-on mechanical role supporting active drilling operations. Previous drillship experience is required. We're looking for someone who can step onboard and contribute immediately without needing to be trained on the drilling package or offshore maintenance procedures.
You'll be working around:
• Top Drive systems
• Drawworks
• Mud Pumps
• Iron Roughneck
• Pipe Racking and Catwalk systems
• Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs)
• Pipe handling equipment and winches
• Cranes and lifting equipment
• Rotary equipment, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary mechanical systems
• Pneumatic and hydraulic control systems
Responsibilities:
- Preventative maintenance
- Troubleshooting mechanical failures
- Rebuilding equipment
- Replacing bearings, seals, cylinders, valves, and hydraulic components
- Responding to breakdowns, and supporting ongoing drilling operations with minimal downtime.
- Candidates should be comfortable reading mechanical drawings, using OEM manuals, and working safely under permit-to-work and LOTO procedures.

This is not a riding position. We're looking for mechanics with broad drilling package experience who have worked across multiple pieces of rig equipment—not just one specific system—and can operate independently in a fast-paced offshore environment.
