Procurement Coordinator
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Procurement Coordinator to oversee and streamline the procurement process, ensuring the efficient acquisition of materials, equipment, and services essential for operational success. This role plays a vital part in supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, cost management, and maintaining compliance with quality, regulatory, and company standards. The ideal candidate will develop procurement strategies that promote cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and timely delivery, supporting the organization’s supply chain integrity and operational needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including preparing and issuing purchase orders.
- Evaluate and establish relationships with reliable suppliers to ensure a high-quality, cost-efficient supply chain.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers while maintaining compliance with applicable standards and policies.
- Monitor procurement activities, follow up on supplier commitments, and address delays or discrepancies impacting delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with internal departments to assess operational requirements, forecast purchasing needs, and align procurement activities with business priorities.
- Conduct market research to identify supplier alternatives, emerging trends, and cost-saving opportunities, while mitigating supply-chain risks.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders, supplier agreements, quotations, and delivery documentation.
- Assist with budget planning by providing cost analysis, procurement projections, and relevant purchasing data.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the process.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
- CSEC certification with passes in Mathematics and English, or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of two years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with experience in manufacturing, industrial services, or the oil and gas sector considered an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective coordination with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.
- Additional certifications or experience in supply chain optimization and risk management are a plus.
