QA/QC Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced QA/QC Manager with a strong background in ASME pressure vessel fabrication to lead quality assurance initiatives on the shop floor. This pivotal role requires a hands-on professional who can enforce rigorous quality standards, ensure full compliance with ASME codes, and foster a culture of accountability within a highly structured and procedure-driven environment. If you thrive on driving quality excellence and possess a deep understanding of pressure vessel fabrication processes, this opportunity offers a chance to make a significant impact in a reputable, long-standing industrial organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all QA/QC activities related to ASME pressure vessel fabrication.
  • Enforce strict adherence to ASME Section VIII, V, IX, and internal QC procedures.
  • Oversee inspection procedures, including NDT (VT, PT, MT, RT, PMI), dimensional inspections, hydro testing, and weld verification.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and turnover packages for each project.
  • Manage weld quality programs and ensure compliance with WPS/PQR standards.
  • Conduct audits of fabrication processes and enforce quality hold points.
  • Review material traceability, MTRs, and ensure code compliance.
  • Act as the primary accountability driver on the shop floor, advocating for quality at every step.
  • Interface effectively with production, engineering, and clients on quality-related matters.

Requirements

  • 5–10+ years of QA/QC experience within ASME pressure vessel fabrication.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, V, IX, welding processes, PWHT, and NDT methods.
  • Proven experience working in a fabrication shop environment, not solely office QA.
  • Demonstrated ability to enforce standards and hold teams accountable for quality.
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Preferred certifications include CWI (Certified Welding Inspector).
  • Experience working with complex alloys such as carbon steels and nickel alloys is advantageous.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience in QA/QC roles is preferred.
