Resident Mill Inspector
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Mill Inspector to oversee the manufacturing of line pipes in Minas Gerais, Brazil. This full-time, on-site role is critical in ensuring compliance with project specifications, international quality standards, and client expectations throughout the production process. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in pipe mill inspection, welding, coating, and nondestructive testing (NDT), contributing to the successful delivery of a major line pipe project.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive resident inspection support at the line pipe manufacturing facility.
- Monitor manufacturing activities to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Inspect and support review of welding processes, including SAW and ERW techniques.
- Support coating inspection activities, including FBE, 3LPE, and 3LPP systems.
- Review and oversee NDT activities within the pipe mill environment.
- Identify and report quality issues, non-conformances, or deviations from project requirements.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with clients, mill personnel, and project teams.
- Support quality assurance and quality control throughout the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) required.
- NACE Level II or III / AMPP certification preferred.
- ASNT Level III or equivalent NDT certification highly desirable.
- Proven experience in line pipe manufacturing inspection.
- Strong background in welding inspection, including SAW and ERW processes.
- Experience in coating inspection, specifically FBE, 3LPE, and 3LPP systems.
- NDT experience within pipe mill environments.
- Prior resident mill inspection experience is preferred.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Minas Gerais, Brazil.
- Candidates based in Brazil are highly preferred.
